The story
Meeting the challenges of modern shipping
Shipping is facing increasing pressure to operate more efficiently and sustainably. Rising fuel costs, stricter environmental regulations and growing operational complexity are driving the need for better insights and smarter decision-making.
The story of Oversea™ began many years ago.
From internal innovation to industry solution
As early as 2009, Wallenius Marine set out to develop digital tools to monitor and analyse vessel performance. What started as an internal initiative to support ship management gradually evolved into a dedicated performance management centre — built on years of operational insight and continuous development.
In parallel, ABB Marine & Ports was advancing its capabilities within remote support services for onboard equipment, as well as advisory solutions to enable safer and more efficient voyage planning and execution.
Over time, it became clear that the two organisations shared a common ambition: to use digitalisation as a driver for improved efficiency and sustainability in shipping. Bringing together complementary strengths, the companies joined forces.
The collaboration eventually led to the creation of Oversea™ Fleet Support AB.
Today, Oversea™ is a joint venture between Wallenius Marine and ABB Marine & Ports. It builds on nearly two decades of combined experience, bringing together deep maritime expertise and advanced digital capabilities to support shipowners and operators in an increasingly complex operating environment.
